Japanese Vintage Medicine Box

This vintage Japanese medicine box features bold red, white and black text on labels adhered to the box. It is unsure if this is over 100 years old (antique) or vintage. The box is made from thin wood and has print on the top. The drawer is made from solid cardboard and has a metal handle. There are markings on the side of the box. There is paper inside the drawer which has a table that has been stuck on the base - it has markings suggesting quantity.

It is in original condition and is worn given its age but still very sturdy.

This is a traditional Japanese medicine box, a unique social record of time and a collectible item.

It would look perfect on a buffet adding interest, or placed on a small table in a corner adding interest. Other different medicine boxes are available and they would look fabulous as a stack.
